Best Comedy Music Original Song, 2023

This one just worked out.

The Logan Whitehurst Memorial Award for Outstanding Original Comedy Song had the following nominees! Since this is a song award, not all of the videos below are proper music videos—“33,” “The Gym” and “Somebody Farted on the Plane” are just title cards accompanied by songs.

A rather cheerfully oblivious song about an AI menace (the sci-fi kind, not the current-events kind)…

A chest-thumping celebration of one of life’s basic milestones—“I Own a Car”…

And the winner, a shaggy-dog story about the importance and difficulties of maintaining a disciplined life. Well, sort of. Like most shaggy dog stories, it wanders a bit. Wolves of Glendale had three nominations this year (for this, “33,” and the video for “Olivia”), so it’s fair to say they’re musicians to watch in this space.
