There are a lot of punny names and punny potential names for conventions, since “con” is one of the most commonly used fragments in English. Some are straightforward (ConJunction, ConVergence, ConFiguration, iCon). Some might sound a little self-deprecating and tongue-in-cheek (ConFusion, ConCussion, What Is This, Some Kind of Con??) or showcase some special interest that this con is meant to serve (LexiCon, SoupCon, ConStruction).
I’d talk about this more, but today I’m off to ConVivial, a show in my college town of Williamsburg! Looking forward to meeting a couple old friends there, and maybe some other folks (who knows, maybe even you!). Also looking forward to the constructed languages panel. So I’ll wrap up these “con” thoughts in tomorrow’s entry.
Citizens of Connecticut are glad to know you arev pro con.
