The time came once again this weekend for the Logan Awards, dedicated to honoring the best in comedy music—with nominees ranging from humble and little-rewarded longtime practitioners to famous mainstream names to more rising stars.

Once again I got out to see the awards ceremony and the Funny Music Project concert surrounding it—whose members tend to be among those underappreciated vets. I’m speaking to some of them for an upcoming Journal of Wordplay story.

I’m flying back into Virginia today and very busy on other fronts, so I’m going to spread the award nominees and winners out over three days of posts—today through Wednesday—with the Wednesday stuff running alongside the week’s microstic. Anyway, the nominees for outstanding comedy music video:
