As I indicated yesterday, the Journal issue isn’t ready yet. But progress is happening! While I’m working on that, here’s a short one.
I considered doing a wordplayish look at key Super-Bowl ads, but there were really only two that inspired that kind of perspective. One, my least favorite, was the use of a 1960 campaign ad for (John F.) Kennedy to promote the reactionary politician (Robert F.) Kennedy (Jr.). Does this really count as a pun, or is it just malicious misdirection? In any case, the two Kennedys had little in common politically.
The other involved the return of a star I didn’t expect to see—one who influenced me to use the name I currently have. Somebody realized his name happened to fit next to the spelling of their brand like a missing puzzle piece…or, one could say, fit it to a T.
