To add to Darryl Francis's search for words with alternating Y's: there is a settlement named Barybylikin (Барыбыликин) in far eastern Russia which was given the alternative transliteration Byrybylykyn when included on a map of the U.S.S.R. in the 1951 edition of "Hammond's Complete World Atlas" (it can also be found in "Funk & Wagnalls Standard Reference Encyclopedia" under this name).
