Last week, I asked the community for a “dumb” cryptogram-maker, offering a bounty of $134. It delivered with impressive speed. Less than fifteen minutes after I posted this offer to Crossword Discord, John Kugelman got me a working version (in Python, not Perl as I’d previously reported). Shortly after that, Warrigal/Tanner Swett sent one as well, sharing it on GitHub. The latter effort is technically more in line with my request: I asked to have it “released to the public…” but both were sharing their work freely through Discord (and you can download John’s here.) So, while I don’t want to set a pockets-emptying precedent here…I think both of them qualify for the prize.
I’m set to send out those rewards today, as soon as I get the accounts to send them to!
And I’d like to keep this energy going. Commenters, feel free to suggest any wordplay-related software that could help in your endeavors. It might be something I’ve already stumbled across, and if not, perhaps that’ll be the next bounty in coming weeks!
(So…how ’bout that game last night, huh?)
